Best Multiplayer Game of 2000: Ground Control
DEVELOPER : Massive
PUBLISHER : Sierra Studios

One of gamers' greatest frustrations with great multiplayer games such as Starcraft or Age of Empires II is the process of setting up a game. Sometimes, setting up a game would take longer than the game itself! Ground Control features an innovative feature which allows you to dynamically join a game and thus, no waiting time. Once you are in the game itself, be prepared for a tactical multiplayer game unlike any before. The game's paper-rock-scissors system is extremely balanced. If your enemy likes to attack with slow moving but powerful artillery, you can always bomb them with the fast moving aerodynes. To sum it up, Ground Control has brought an innovative feature that was once limited to 3D-Shooters and an amazing tactical game. For that, it deserves our award for best multiplayer game of 2000!
