Turn-based Strategy Game of 2000:
Space Empires IV
DEVELOPER
: Malfador Machinations
PUBLISHER : Shrapnelgames
As mentioned in the intro, the state of the PC gaming arena is changing.
Our turn-based strategy game of the year goes to a little known game that is
only available on the web. Space Empires IV is largely the work of one
programmer and one artist. The duo proves that great gaming does not need a
hefty or expensively produced graphics. Malfador Machinations has crafted
one of the best 4X- space strategy games of all-time with a game that has
pleasing graphics, an expansive interface, a worthy AI and the ability to
mod to one's content. Though the game itself is missing atmosphere, for
those who want to get their hands on the best tech tree created for a 4X
game, look no further. SEIV has everything a would-be space conqueror
needs.
