The Operational Art of War

box.jpg (10536 bytes)The Operational Art of War Vol. 1 is another one of Norm Koger's masterpiece, creator of Age of Rifles and Tanks, TOAW is the wargame of 1998. This wargame has it all -- intensely modeled stacking, command and control, logistic details, an advance scenario editor, and the list goes on. Unlike most wargames, TOAW covers a time period rather than a single theatre of a war. The game is also extremely complex but it offers an intuitive interface which works out perfectly.  The highly increable an advance scenario editor will insure this game to be played for months(or years) to come.

Runner-up:

101: Airborne Invasion of Normandy: Gripping gameplay, an intuitive interface, and ultra realism catapult Empire's 101 Airborne to Runner-up in our Wargame of 1998 competition. Capturing completely the essence of the airborne invasion of Normandy, 101 totally immerses the player in the suspense and confusion of that fateful time. Attention to detail is the hallmark here, but without bogging the experience down in minutae. Heck, I even have a new respect for the cows of Normandy. Great game.
