Mission 1 : Kasserine Pass

Mission Directives: Eliminate the German spotting team from Kasserine Pass.

Mission Guide: The first priority of all mission in SAW is to find a secure place to organize your troops before moving on your objective. In this case, move all of the squad with the exception of Longley, Caldwell, and Strickland into the building north of your starting position (1). Be sure to station me by the windows and doors so when it hits the fan your boys are ready. Hide them below the windows before sending the remaining three men into the building to the west (8). Get Strickland into position on the second floor of the building (8) where he will be able to raise up and cover the street. Move Longley and Caldwell next to the northern most door in the building and have them get down out of sight (8). Always remember to end your turn with all your troops in as much cover as possible.

Next let the men in building one open fire on the guard outside of eight, raise Strickland up and let him shoot at the patrol moving south down the road. There are two enemies patrolling to the west of eight, watch out for them before moving quickly into seven. Use the men in one to provide cover and suppressive fire as needed. Have Longley call for mortar fire on position eleven and if your lucky you will get all three of the Germans. Most likely though you will only manage to kill two of them so once the street is clear move Strickland into seven. Now move the team up the stairs. Let the guys with pistols lead. Have one stop on the stairs just above the landing then lay down. Have the second move to the landing just below him and toss an M2 up to the top of the stairs. This should supress or kill the guard up there. Move the first man up to the top of the stairs and finish him off before ducking inside the third floor for cover. Now send up the second man and kill the officer inside for a key to the storehouse on the first floor. Have Strickland go prone by the railing for a turn so he has enough points to pop up and take a shot before returning to cover. Let him pick off the Germans on the hill. Now move the rest of your team out carefully as there are likely to be another enemy or two lurking around. Kill all of them to get extra mission points, the more mission points you get the better your soldiers get with their weapons and they receive extra action points. The only items that you really should retrieve from the field come from the men at the base of the hill. Get the M1E7, the M1 Carbine, and the Gebalte Ladung, as well as all the extra ammo you can carry before calling for pickup.
